Lions Club yard sale
JAY — The Lions Club will hold a yard sale with tents featuring books, clothing and furniture.
The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19 and 20, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Jay Plaza.
SLCOA plans presentations
ROXBURY — The Silver Lake Camp Owners Association will host two informational presentations Saturday, Aug. 20, St. Mary’s Chapel, at Roxbury Pond.
A presentation on the the Ellis Pond Watershed Survey by Jeff Stern will be held at 9 a.m. Stern is the grant coordinator and will discuss the status of the survey, including what grants are available to landowners in the watershed. He will make himself available to do individual site assessments to determine the best course of action to minimize impact to the pond.
Scott Williams, aquatic biologist and executive director of the Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program, will present information on metophyton filamentous algae, it’s impact on water quality and it’s presence in Maine Lakes at 10 a.m. Williams has been working in Maine Lakes for more than 30 years. He has a great understanding of this phenomenon and will be sharing his findings.
These presentations are open to everyone. This is a great opportunity to get information from directly from the experts. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
Painting for NAMI Sunday
MEXICO — The NAMI Western Mountains affiliate is hosting a Paint Night fundraiser for the 2016 NAMI Maine walk in September.
It will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at The Gypsy Canvas at the Mexico Recreation Center on Recreation Drive.
The cost is $25 per person.
Farmington Historical Society to meet
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the North Church, 118 High St.
The potluck dinner will be followed by the meeting. Everyone is welcome.
The program this month will feature an update from area historical societies.
Cooperative Minecrafting at Paris Library
PARIS — Minecraft enthusiasts can bring their devices and Minecraft account to Minecraft Day at the Paris Public Library.
Cooperative Minecrafting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Food mobile visiting Wilton pantry
WILTON — The Wilton Area Food Pantry will host the Good Shepherd Food Mobile from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, in the parking lot of the Wilton United Methodist Church, 600 Main St.
This is to assist any family in need of food. Those attending should bring a box to put the food in. Anyone in need is welcome to come.
Holy Savior seeking fair vendors
Holy Savior School is looking for vendors to participate their upcoming fall festival. The festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Holy Savior School on Franklin Street.

Friends Together seeks sale items
LIVERMORE FALLS — Friends Together Peer Support and Recovery Center is seeking donations for a yard sale that will be held during the Apple Pumpkin Festival Saturday, Sept. 24.
Donations, excluding clothing, may be dropped off at 31 Park St. next to the fire station. If no one is at the center, items may be left at the back door.
