Understanding the juvenile justice system

LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Library will partner with Maine Immigrant & Refugee Services to host their annual event on the juvenile justice system. This program will run from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in LPL’s Callahan Hall. It is free and open to the entire community.

The event is targeted at parents, youth, community members and social service providers and provides a chance to meet juvenile judges, police officers, probation officers and other experts who deal with our youth. Those attending are encouraged to ask questions, engage, interact with the others and learn how the community can all work together to prevent juvenile delinquency.
