RUMFORD – Gus Carlson, Rumford Hospital pharmacy director, was honored as Pharmacist of the Year by the Maine Society of Health System Pharmacists at its annual meeting in Bethel.

A graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, Carlson is a fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists. He has worked at Rumford Hospital for more than 20 years. Before coming to Maine, he worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston for five years.

Carlson lives in Dixfield with his wife and twin daughters.
