PHILLIPS — The Phillips Public Library will have its second old book and art sale fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7 and 8.

The book sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and the art sale is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday only.

The books have been recently donated and include vintage and rare works, some first edition.

Nonfiction books about New England include an 1883 edition of “New England Bird Life.” Maine authors are represented with Stephen King, Ardeane Hamlin Knowles’ “Pink Chimneys” and Elizabeth Foster’s “The Islanders.” There are rare works by well-known writers such as Mark Twain and Ian Flemming. The sale includes decorative old book sets, including one 40-volume set of Waverly novels and a 50-volume set of Harvard Classics. Old children’s books will be available.

Local Phillips-area artists will contribute artwork. Works for sale will include those by David Crowley, Jeff Seaberg and Diana Thomas.
