NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital and the MaineHealth Learning Resource Center are offering Understanding Dizziness on Thursday, Nov. 14.

The program will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office building. It’s free and open to the public, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.

The class is for those who get dizzy when they move their head or body or those who have trouble walking or moving because of dizziness. Vertigo is a common problem that causes dizziness, especially among older adults.

Amy Bottomley, a physical therapist from the hospital, is the instructor. She will cover common causes of vertigo and ways to help. She is certified in vestibular rehabilitation from the American Institute of Balance.
