FARMINGTON — A Wilton woman is accused of sexually assaulting and molesting a child under age 12 and forcing the child to watch three adults have sex between June 1, 2014 and and Feb. 12, 2015.

A Franklin County grand jury indicted Tami L. Ouellette, 43, of Cemetery Road, on felony counts of Class A gross sexual assault, Class B unlawful sexual contact and Class C visual sexual aggression against a child.

A conviction on the Class A gross sexual assault carries up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. A conviction on unlawful sexual contact is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The visual sexual aggression charge is punishable by a maximum five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Assistant District Attorney Claire Andrews requested the court to dismiss initial charges of felony unlawful sexual contact and visual sexual aggression against a child in September.

Days before Ouellette was to go on trial, Andrews told the court she wanted to go for an indictment on the Class A gross sexual assault because the child had revealed new information which had been corroborated by other sources.

Justice William Stokes agreed to dismiss the charges over the objection of Ouellette’s attorney William Maselli.

Ouellette also faces several felony counts of violation of conditions of release and tampering with a witness.

Ouellette and two co-defendants were arrested in February 2015 on the initial charges by Franklin County sheriff’s Detective Kenneth Charles.

Ouellette’s husband, Jamie, 38, formerly of Wilton, has been incarcerated since his arrest last year. He pleaded guilty to a Class A charge of unlawful sexual contact and Class C counts of unlawful sexual contact involving a child under 12 and visual sexual aggression against a child in September in Franklin County Superior Court.

Jamie Ouellette does not agree with the allegations, but accepts he could be found guilty based on the information provided by the prosecution at a trial, Justice William Stokes previously said. He also pleaded guilty to several charges of violation of conditions of release and tampering with a witness.

Under the plea agreement, the prosecution is seeking a 20-year sentence with all but eight years suspended and nine years of probation on the charge of unlawful sexual contact, Andrews told the court in September.

Jamie Ouellette’s girlfriend, Anna LaRochelle, 26, of Anson, formerly of Wilton, pleaded guilty by way of an Alford plea in September to a Class B unlawful sexual contact and a Class C sexual aggression against a child

The Alford plea means she doesn’t agree with the state’s evidence but acknowledges if the state presented it to a jury, she could be found guilty.

She is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 16.
