LEWISTON – Six registered nurses from various clinical areas at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston have successfully completed requirements to advance to level four and five in the clinical ladder.
Reaching level four status are: Linda Gondeck, endoscopy; Lisa Gwarjanski, endoscopy; Sandy Masters, endoscopy; Denise Timberlake, surgical services; Lucie Gilbert, surgical services. Reaching level five status: Gail Martel, family birthing unit.
The clinical ladder is a program that evaluates the progress and ultimately rewards excellence in nursing practice for the bedside nurse, and for the nurse who provides indirect services that positively impact the quality of patient care. The goal is to promote the progression of clinical nurses from a novice, to an experienced clinician who functions as a Level III practitioner.
