PORTLAND – The Maine International Trade Center is coordinating a half-day seminar, providing an excellent overview of import procedures including important financial, legal and logistical issues. There will be expert presenters on documentary requirements, critical steps for customs clearance, duties and tariffs, and important terms of purchase and sales when importing. U.S. Customs binding rulings and duty drawbacks will also be featured. This is an essential seminar for the first time importer or as a training program for new staff.

Importing & Import Compliance is part of the Citizens Bank Foundation International Trade Education Series and will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at MITC in Portland. Seminar presenters include Citizens Bank, Dachser Transport of America, and Middleton & Shrull.
