AUBURN – John McGonagill, airport manager at the Auburn-Lewiston Municipal Airport, recently completed a certification program for airport managers.

The American Association of Airport Executives’ professional certification program prepares an airport manager to handle the daily operations of an airfield. The program includes environmental and land-use compatibility, financial management and accounting, airport capital development and funding, and airport system plans.

The association is the largest professional organization for airport executives, representing thousands of airport management personnel at public-use airports nationwide.

The training and certification through the association has been available for nearly 50 years.
