AUBURN – Auburn manufacturer Formed Fiber Technologies, Inc. has hired Peter Haviland as director of sales. He is in charge of sales to GM, Ford and Chrysler.

He has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the State University of New York-Buffalo and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He was appointed to the U.S. Navy’s Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program at the Nuclear Prototype in Balston Spa, N.Y., then served as a commissioned officer aboard the USS Ulysses S. Grant, a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, where he supervised advanced submarine communications systems.

Before joining FFT, Haviland was director of operating assets for Trigen Energy Corp., a business unit of Tractebel Power, Inc. He previously held several positions of increasing responsibility with American Ref-Fuel Co., most recently as a marketing and business manager.

Haviland and his family recently relocated to Maine and live in Brunswick.
