NORWAY – Loriann Duperry, a teacher assistant at the Child Health Center’s Auburn Preschool, has received a child development associate certification. The associate program is a nationally recognized program that provides child care and early education professionals with a performance based training, assessment and credential.
In order to receive the certification, Duperry was required to complete 120 hours of work in the field, compile a resource file and portfolio and comply with an on-site evaluation. Both a written and oral test were required before she was able to receive her certification.
Duperry, a native of Lewiston, has worked in the Auburn preschool for five years. She stated that the completion of this program has given her a strong foundation to work with as she continues her career at the preschool.
