RUMFORD – Rodney McIntyre has joined Central Maine Health Care as administrator of Rumford Community Home.
He was most recently administrator of Lucette Resident Care Facility in Thomaston and has also managed homes in Bath and Skowhegan.
“We are very lucky to have found someone with Rod’s management experience who is also very much a people person,” says Rumford Community Home Board Chair Stuart Cooper. “In his first few weeks he’s really shown himself to be very supportive of our wonderful staff at the home and our community as a whole.”
A Presque Isle native, McIntyre holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Unity College. After military service with the US Army Security Agency, he spent 22 years in retail banking management, primarily in Maine, before studying for his license in health care administration. Five years ago, he became an administrator in training at Woodlawn Rehab and Nursing Center in Skowhegan.
McIntyre wanted to settle down in a community-based long-term care facility and relishes the atmosphere of the non-for-profit Rumford Community Home. McIntyre lives in Skowhegan with his wife, Lynn and daughter, Mandy.
