AUBURN – Former Gov. Angus King has joined the Board of Directors of Lee Auto Malls.
King, 59, graduated from Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School. He worked as an attorney for Pine Tree Legal Assistance and in private practice. In 1989 he started an energy conservation development company and sold it in 1994. King was elected governor in 1994 and re-elected in 1998. He is married to Mary Herman and has five children.
Other members of the board include Maryann Keller, the former president of Priceline Automotive and a leading Wall Street automotive analyst for 28 years; Jeb Balise, owner of 17 dealerships in Massachusetts; John R. Daigle, former chairman of Casco Northern Bank; David Coit, president of North Atlantic Capital Corp.; Eugene Geiger, president of Geiger Brothers; Heather Blease, founder and former president of Envisionet; Richard Pattenaude, president of the University of Southern Maine; and Catherine Lee, president of Lee International.
The independent members of the board are joined by Shepard Lee, chairman, and John Isaacson, CEO of Lee Auto Malls; and Executive Board members, Don Lee, Adam Lee, Paul LaPlante and James Mandel.
Lee Auto Malls is one of the oldest and largest dealerships in Maine and presently has eight dealerships at seven locations within the state, including Auburn and Norway.
