Nearly 80 people gathered recently to honor Rumford Hospital staff members on their anniversaries of service to the hospital and the River Valley community. Of the 45 people honored, five have served more than 30 years.
Sonjia Ellis, LPN, of Rumford joined the Rumford Hospital staff as a certified nursing assistant 35 years ago. She is now the coordinator for Specialty Clinics, which bring physician specialists to Rumford so their patients don’t have to travel to Lewiston when they need specialty services.
Diane Gallant, RN, has worked in the Emergency Department for most of her 35 years at Rumford Hospital. She started there as a CNA and currently works per diem as a registered nurse.
Jackie Moore, RT, has worked at Rumford Hospital since she graduated from radiology technologist school 35 years ago. With special certification in mammography, she is now the lead technologist for that service.
Lorraine Phelps, RN, is a nurse in the Emergency Department at Rumford Hospital. During her 35 years of nursing at the hospital she worked in Med/Surg and in the recovery room.
Andra Beauchesne was honored for 30 years of service. Now in charge of the Dietary Department at Rumford Community Home, she started her career at Rumford Hospital.
Employees with 25 years of service are: JoAnn Broomhall, Swift River; Judy Lovejoy, Med. Info.; Peggy Mattor, Med/Surg; Sally Arsenault, Patient Care Services; and Sharon Gates, ED.
Honored for 20 years were: Kathy Martin, Lab; Marcia Theriault, Radiology; Karen Thurston, ED; Gemma Waterhouse, Cent. Reg.; and Tracie White, Specialty Clinics.
Rumford Hospital employees with 15 years of service are: Gus Carlson, Pharmacy; Jennifer Cohen, Cardiac Rehab; Walter Hutchins, Plant Operations; Diana Lemelin, Administration; Carolyn Mills; Laboratory; Pamela Nelson, Laboratory; Lori Roberts, Cent. Reg.; and John Welsh, CEO.
Ten year veterans are Sue Beauchesne, Elsemore Dixfield Center; Sylvia Goodman, Intensive Care Unit; Dieter Kreckel, MD; John Kroger, MD; Bridget Malchisky, Cent. Reg.; John O’Leary, Swift River; and Tricia Orr, Infection Control.
Honored for five years of service to Rumford Hospital were: Bonnie Bulger, food service; David Galbraith, MD; Kathryn Galbraith, MD: Kim Gallant, Swift River Health Care; Kathy Gurney, Med/Surg; Melody Holmquist, Radiology; Valerie Jacobs, OT; Nina Mollicone, Med/Surg; Jeanne Morgan, Laboratory; Carol North, Environmental Services; Michael Poirier, Emergency Department; Pamela Poisson, ED; Toni Robertson, Medical Information; Jean Soubble, Radiology; and George Virgin, Environmental Services.
All honorees received tote bags embroidered with the hospital logo and their years of service, as well as annual plants used to decorate the banquet tables.
