LEWISTON – Matchmaker Mortgage Exchange announced the opening of a branch at 465 Main St. in Lewiston.

Based in Damariscotta, the company is owned by Jim and Sue Ferrier. With interest rates and home ownership at near record levels, the Ferriers began searching for potential expansion sites several months ago.

Matchmaker offers loan programs for prospective buyers of single family and multi-unit properties, as well as refinancing.

Ferrier named Senior Loan Officer Matt Madden to manage the Lewiston branch. Madden specializes in loan programs for self-employed borrowers as well as first-time home buyers.

He lives in Lewiston with his wife, Melissa, and children Christopher and Abigail.

Jackson speaks to Women’s Network

LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Chapter of the Maine Women’s Network is dedicating its Oct. 1 networking luncheon to public speaking.

Diane Jackson, western Maine representative for U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, will present “Creating Your Own Style in Public Speaking.” Jackson performs outreach, develops and maintains relationships with towns and municipalities, as well as organizations and area businesses. She also serves as the senator’s representative at events and forums. Lunch will be held at and catered by Martindale Country Club, 527 Beech Hill Road, Auburn.

Cost is $12 for members and $14 for nonmembers if prepaid by Sept. 28. At the door the cost is $14 and $16, respectively. Advanced registration and nonrefundable payment are required.
