Canton firefighters remove debris from Canton Point Road on a rainy Saturday afternoon after driver Elijah Johnson, 24, of Canton, lost control of his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to Maine State Trooper Kyle Tilsley. Tilsley said Johnson, who was headed west to Dixfield at 2:10 p.m., got into the soft sandy shoulder, then over-corrected. The Jeep crossed both lanes and nosed into a drainage ditch before standing on its front end and flopping onto the roof. Med-Care Ambulance took Johnson to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington as a precaution. Tilsley said speed wasn’t a factor.
