FALMOUTH (AP) – A section of Interstate 295 in Falmouth has been reopened to traffic following a car-truck accident that closed the southbound lanes for hours.

The crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday when a car went out of control near Exit 15 and struck a guardrail. The car wound up in the path of a tractor-trailer rig, which overturned as its driver tried to avoid the accident.

The motorist was transported to Maine Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The trucker received first-aid at the scene.
