AUGUSTA (AP) – Gov. John Baldacci says he won’t sign four bills enacted by the Legislature before its adjournment late Friday night.

The pocket-veto list includes two measures that Baldacci called “unacceptable expansions of gambling.”

One of those was drafted to authorize state police to issue a tournament game license for cribbage sponsored by charitable and fraternal organizations with a maximum of 1,000 players once per calendar year. The other gaming bill set out to allow nonprofit organizations to conduct games of chance without a license.

Also blocked from becoming law are bills to establish a Maine Fund of Funds within the Small Enterprise Growth Board to increase access to venture capital, and to ahift public notice of government business toward the Internet.
