PORTLAND (AP) – Time Warner Cable of New England’s programming agreements with 20 of the channels it airs in Maine expire at the end of April.
Time Warner’s spokesman in Portland, Peter DeWitt, says notices announcing the end of the agreements don’t necessarily indicate that negotiations are stalling or that any of the agreements won’t be renewed.
Time Warner has 900 channels in its cable lineup. The company says it’s a pretty routine occurrence for agreements to come close to expiration.
Some of the agreements up for renewal are for popular channels such as the USA Network, A&E, The Weather Channel and Comcast SportsNet, which broadcasts Boston Celtics basketball games.
