Maine State Police say two young man are appearing in court on manslaughter charges in unrelated baby deaths in East Machias and Skowhegan.

Both cases have been under investigation since last week and the suspects were arrested Friday.

Twenty-three-year-old Mika Mitchell of Skowhegan is charged in Thursday’s death of his 1-month-old daughter, Pandora Mitchell, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

In the other case, 22-year-old William Bryson of East Machias is charged in the March 2 death of his stepson, 21/2-year-old Damon Nason, also at EMMC.
