AUGUSTA (AP) – Kennebec County law officials say they have made a dent in a central Maine marijuana distribution operation following two home searches in the past week.
Fifty-one-year-old Catherine McDevitt and her 52-year-old husband, Randy McDevitt, face drug charges after sheriff’s deputies say they found 60 pounds of marijuana valued at $120,000 in a search of their West Gardiner home.
Sheriff Randall Liberty says the suspects were not at home at the time of the search, and that Randy McDevitt turned himself in the next day. His wife surrendered on Tuesday.
Liberty says deputies last week found 100 high-grade marijuana plants growing in a home in Rome. Two people have been charged with marijuana cultivation in that case.
