BANGOR (AP) – A 46-year-old mother from Hampden has been jailed pending the outcome of federal charges that she mailed bomb threats that shut down three Bangor-area schools for a day in March.

Jodi Lynn Holmes allegedly told investigators that she sent the letters to Hampden Academy, John Bapst Memorial High School and Bangor Christian Schools during what was “a bad mental health week” and that her goal was to terrorize the recipients.

Holmes waived her right to a competency hearing after undergoing a two-month mental health evaluation. She also agreed to be held in the Penobscot County Jail pending the outcome of her case.
