GREENVILLE, Maine (AP) – A Connecticut man who went out to warm up his snowmobile Sunday morning before joining a group for breakfast died after the vehicle crashed into a lake snowbank, authorities said.

The victim in Maine’s seventh fatal snowmobile accident of the season was identified as Shawn M. Worster, 46, of New Haven, Conn.

Spokesman Mark Latti of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said Worster, who was wearing a helmet but lost it in the crash, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The accident happened shortly after 7 a.m., Latti said.
