WILTON – The search continued Wednesday for a man who assaulted a Wilton officer who was about to arrest him.

Stephen Demings, 21, of Wilton fled the Police Department early Monday afternoon as he was about to be arrested on a charge of supplying alcohol to underage persons, police Chief Dennis Brown said. Demings had not been located by late afternoon Wednesday.

He assaulted officer Mark Przeslak and fled in to a wooded area near the station, Brown said. Przeslak received minor injuries but was able to return to work.
