FARMINGTON – Registrations for a Saturday woodlot management workshop have been extended to July 16.
The workshop, planned from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington Grange Hall, will teach the basics of how to manage a woodlot and plan for a successful harvest.
Dave Fuller of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will also help participants identify opportunities for extra income from non-timber forest products.
Woodlot management will be discussed by Patty Cormier of the Maine Forest Service and a woodlot harvest panel including the woodlot owner will review harvesting. Owner Doug Dunlap, forester Pete Tracy and logger Scott Davis will serve on the panel. Following a break for lunch, the workshop will include a tour of Dunlap’s Holly Road woodlot.
For more information or to register, call the Threshold to Maine RC&D at 657-3131 or e-mail [email protected]. There is a $15 registration fee that includes lunch.
