PHILLIPS – Police are investigating the theft of a black desktop Dell computer and accessories Monday night from the Boys and Girls Club on Depot Street.

Bethany Ricker, manager of the nonprofit club serving children in the area, reported the theft Tuesday, Maine State Police Trooper Scott Nichols said.

Some juveniles had been at the club Monday and it is believed someone unlatched a door and returned later to take the computer, he said.

The only thing missing was the computer and related equipment, he said, noting there were other things that could have been taken.

Along with the computer, a keyboard, mouse, monitor and the hard drive were taken, he said.

Ricker told Nichols if the computer is returned there will be no questions asked or charges pressed, he said.

However, if police discover who took the computer before it is returned, the situation changes, Nichols said.

He does have some suspects, he said.

Anyone with information can contact Ricker at 639-2022 or Nichols at 1-800-452-4664.
