KINGFIELD – A Main Street space that has often housed gift shops is now home to Imperial Board Lords and features a large line of goods for skateboarding and snowboarding enthusiasts.
“I was looking for a way to combine my enjoyment of riding with work, so I decided to open a shop that does both for me,” owner Chris Maturi said in an interview last week.
Maturi has been riding since 1989 and has brought that experience and enthusiasm to Imperial. The shop is filled with skateboards and snowboards, and Maturi will be adding wave boards soon, he said.
There are clothing lines and outerwear, gloves and goggles, boots and bindings. The shop also carries a wide variety of accessories and hardware such as decks, wheels and more. Maturi carries items for adults and children alike, does binding repairs and board set up.
He also says he will be changing the shop with the seasons and hopes to add events and contests to his venue in the future.
Imperial can be reached at 265-2466 or by visiting www.imperialboardlords.com. The shop is located at 245 Main St., next to Longfellow’s Restaurant and is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
