FARMINGTON – More than 200 marijuana plants were seized in Franklin County during another eradication operation by law enforcement Wednesday and Thursday.
The two-day effort netted 237 plants, with the majority coming from off Cahoon, Mace, Marquis and Brunswick roads in Chesterville, Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Niles Yeaton said Thursday.
He estimated the street value of the plants at maturity at $300,000.
That brings the total number of pot plants seized in the county this year to more than 1,100 with a street value, if matured, at more than $2 million, Yeaton said.
Last week, officers eradicated 1,061 marijuana plants in Franklin, Oxford and Androscoggin counties, with about 600 of those plants pulled in Franklin County.
Also assisting in this week’s effort were Maine State Police, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Maine Air National Guard.
