JAY – Police arrested a Jay man Tuesday on a Class B charge of gross sexual assault in connection with a 15-year-old Jay girl, Police Chief Larry White Sr. said Tuesday.

Phillip Hebert, 23, was also summoned on a Class D charge of supplying alcohol to a minor.

“The assault allegedly occurred on the morning of June 12 at a home on the Maxwell Road in Jay,” White said. “It’s alleged that Phillip Hebert provided the alcohol to two underage females.”

“It is alleged” that Hebert “sexually assaulted one of the females while she was sleeping,” White said.

The female did not consent to the act, he said.

Detective Roderick Small investigated the incident and arrested Hebert and took him to the Franklin County jail in Farmington. Bail was set at $500 cash.
