WINTHROP – Travis Sherman smacked a double and Jim Theriault singled twice, staking Winthrop to a 9-8 Apple Valley Babe Ruth baseball victory over Monmouth.
Carl Mayer added a single for Winthrop (10-4). Josh Fournier doubled twice for Monmouth. Brandon Goff banged out a double and a single.
