JAY — Jay police eradicated marijuana plants with a street value of about $5,000 so far this week, police Chief Larry White Sr. said Wednesday.

Cpl. Jeff Fournier, Detective Richard Caton IV and Sgt. Troy Young have been working on the pot plant eradication effort this week, he said.

The Police Department will continue to search for the illegal plants until the growing season comes to an end, White said.

Some of the marijuana was found in wooded areas near Plaisted Road, Route 133, Route 140 and Route 4, he said.

No one has been charged. However, police are still investigating, White said.
