LEWISTON — In an effort to bring candidates together with younger voters in the community, the Young Professionals of the Lewiston/Auburn Area (YPLAA) along with the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce are planning a candidate’s meet and greet forum from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St.
City council and mayoral candidates from Lewiston and Auburn have been invited to the Candid Candidates 2009 forum. There will be a brief introduction of the candidates followed by a networking opportunity.
The forum is designed as an informal evening with tables available for candidates to display personal literature and other information. For attendees not yet registered to vote, registration cards will be available and collected for distribution to Androscoggin County voting districts. Each attendee will be informed of their Ward so they know who to connect with during the evening.
Candidates will be sent a list of questions that focus on issues currently of importance to the Twin Cities. Candidates’ answers to the questions will be made available at the event as well as posted on www.YPLAA.com through the election season.
Appetizers will be provided and a cash bar will be available.
