LEWISTON – Reginald “Reggie” R. Provencher, 74, of Steven Mills Park, Auburn, died Thursday, June 18, at Marshwood Nursing Home following a brief illness.
He was born in Auburn on Jan. 20, 1935, the son of Oscar and Florida (Lemay) Provencher.
He married Therese Veilleux on Sept. 3, 1955. She died on Oct. 25, 2003.
He worked at Victor News and also managed Roberts Cards and Variety in Lewiston for many years. He later owned and operated R&N Variety & Deli in Lewiston for several years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Council 106.
Reggie enjoyed carpentry, landscaping, restoring antiques and was an avid sports fan, especially watching the Red Sox.
Reggie was a man of deep faith and was always willing to help people in need.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Moseley and her husband, Robert, of Arnold, Md.; his sons, Renald Provencher of Harleysville, Pa., and Gerard Provencher and his wife, Kirsten, of Auburn; grandchildren, Emily, Anna, John and Steven Provencher of Pennsylvania, and Zachary and Jenna Provencher of Auburn; step-grandchildren, Richard, Rachel and Russell Moseley of Maryland; and by two step-great-granddaughters.
He was predeceased by his brother, Oscar Provencher Jr.; and by his sister, Val Poulin.
