LEWISTON – Norman Gene Child Sr., 56, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, May 30, at his home on Pine Street.

He was born in Lewiston on June 17, 1952, the son of Flora B. Soper and Clarion Child.

Norman enjoyed music and was a wonderful guitar player. He also enjoyed bingo and family gatherings at the home of his parents and brothers in Auburn.

Norman was a big-hearted man who always put others before himself. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

I will be listening for his music playing in heaven. Goodbye for now, friend!

He is survived by his children, Melissa Treadwell of Greene, Clyde Herrick of Sabattus, Norman Child, Jr. of Lewiston, Sheldon Child of Lewiston, Richard Foster of Otisfield and Kevin Child; beautiful grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Susan Bowden and her husband, Steve of Lewiston, Linda Levesque and her husband, Robert and Clarissa Collins; four brothers, Bruce Soper of Auburn, Donald Soper of Auburn, Harold Soper, Jr. of Lewiston and Robert Soper and wife, Heather of Waldoboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Norman was predeceased by his father, Clarion Child, his mother, Flora Soper, his stepfather, Harold Soper Sr. and his brother, Irvin Child.
