WATERVILLE – Ronald B. Lemay, 80, of Benton, died April 8, at the Inland Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past four days after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston, April 6, 1929, the son of Anthony and Aurore (Fontaine) Lemay. He was educated in the schools of Lewiston and married Earlene Knight in Fairbanks in 1983. He worked for more than 35 years at G.H. Bass Co. in Wilton and at Point Sebago Golf Course taking care of the grounds for several years retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, four-wheeling and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife, Earlene of Benton; three daughters, Rachel Libby and husband, Greg, of Jay, Joana Meller and husband, Bob of New York, and Denise Scofield of New York; a brother, Robert Lemay and wife, Ruth, of Virginia Beach, Va.; three stepchildren, Gerald Tolman and wife, Michelle, of Pittsfield, Belinda Crosby and husband, Mervin, of Pittsfield, Darrell Tolman and wife, Katherine, of Palmyra; six grandchildren, Kert Libby and fiancée, Michaela O’Malley, Lisa Libby and fiancée, Zachery Smith, Kevin Libby, Paul and David Trottier, Sage Scofield; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; special friends, Lyndell Dixon, David Hasting, Eugene Tardif, Albert Campbell and Leroy Ham; and Ronald’s favorite cat “Dolly.”
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Aurore Lemay; and his cat “Muffin.”
