LEWISTON – Roland N. Rousseau, 79, of Lewiston died peacefully on April 9, at his residence, following a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 23, 1929, the son of Philip and Yvette Rousseau. He had been a resident of this community all of his life. He was employed in the local textile industry for many years until his retirement in 1985.

He was a parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Church. Roland enjoyed fishing in his younger years. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa Roberge of Lewiston, whom he married in 1952; two daughters, Madeline Flores and Rose Speaker, both of Lewiston; two sons, Richard Rousseau and his wife, Lena, and Denis Rousseau, all of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Jessica Trujillo and her husband, David, Maria Boisvert and her husband, Bob, Michele Arel and her husband, David, and Benjamin and Matthew Speaker; eight great-grandchildren, Lillian, Trevor, Samantha, Carlos, Kiara, Ethen, Margaret and Joey; and several nieces and nephews.
