AUBURN – Alberta I. Gallant, 89, a former resident of Livermore, died April 11, at Clover Manor Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was born April 5, 1920, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Ernest and Velma (Richards) Hickey. Alberta was a 1938 graduate of Livermore Falls high school and enjoyed playing basketball throughout her high school years.

On Sep. 12, 1940, in Livermore Falls, she married Adrien Gallant. He passed away June 30, 1994. They made their home on Green Street in Livermore Falls and later moved to Round Pond Road in Livermore. Alberta was a homemaker and also worked at New England Shipyard in South Portland; Blue Cross/Blue Shield and as an office worker at Livermore Falls Shoe, retiring when it closed. Alberta enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing, crafts and parties.

She is survived by three daughters, Sheila Walls and her husband, Nelson, of Livermore; Barbara Huff of Auburn and Michelle Riley and her companion, Norman Nemi, of Livermore; four grandchildren, Carrie Gervais, Ted Walls, Shawn Riley and Kirk Riley; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ervine Bonnevie of Livermore, and Betty Korhonen of Livermore.

She was predeceased by a son-in-law, William Riley.
