LEWISTON – Paul R. Harris, 69, a resident of Auburn, died Sunday, March 8, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness with his wife, Nancy, by his side.
He was born in Lewiston, Aug. 7, 1939, the son of Franklin and Miriam (Marston) Harris. He attended Lewiston schools and Lewiston High School. After school, he married the former Nancy Fenderson on July 3, 1971.
He was active in the Maine Republican Party as well as several Masonic organizations including the Rabonni Lodge 150; past patron of Mt. Olive Chapter 29 from 1999 to 2000, now known as the Pine Cone Chapter 26, and Kora Temple. He was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church of Lewiston.
Besides his wife, Nancy, of Auburn, survivors include his mother, Miriam Harris of Auburn; a nephew, Benjamin P. Leonard and wife, Stacy, of Raymond; sister-in-law, Jane Leonard of Poway, Calif.; one aunt, Charlotte Marston of Auburn; and a sister-in-law, Betsy Harris of Garfield, N.J.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Franklin Harris Jr.; and a nephew, Edward “Ned” Leonard.
