AUBURN – Cecile S. Anctil, 87, of Schooner Estates in Auburn, died Thursday, March 5, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn.

Born in Berlin, N.H., on Aug. 15, 1921, she was the daughter of Amaddee and Anna Gendron Anctil. She attended the Sisters of Presentation Academy in Hudson, N.H., and then graduated from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, Pa.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed for many years by the Government Printing Office in both Washington, D.C., and New York City.

An avid reader and fan of classical music, she was a communicant of St. Philip’s Church.

Survivors include a first cousin, Bernadette Anctil of Lewiston; second cousin, Paulette Anctil of Lewiston; and many other second cousins.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Schooner Estates, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, and the Hospice House for all the care and kindness they gave Cecile during her final illness.
