Claude Young Jr.

1928 – 2009
SOUTH PARIS — Claude Young Jr. of South Paris died July 5, at home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1928, the son of Claude and Alice Young.
He attended area schools and worked with his father in the woods. He also worked for Portland Packing, Pratts Saw Mill, Norway shoe shop, Wilner Wood Products and retired from the state of Maine Highway Maintainence Department. Most of his profession was logging. After retiring, he continued with his parttime business, Young’s Tire Shop, for the enjoyment of people.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. His favorite pasttime was going to Azischos Lake with his loving family and the family’s 10 dogs, his favorite being Brittney.
He is survived by his loving wife, Myrtle; four children, Daniel Young and wife, Linda, of South Paris, Linda Chase and husband, Rick, of West Paris, Sarah Miclon and husband, Jim, of Woodstock and Charles Young and wife, Laurie, of South Paris; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy, Allen and James Young; and two sisters, Idella Jack and Alice Williams.
He was predeceased by his parents, Claude and Alice Young; two brothers, Donald and Earl Young; and two sisters, Mae Norton and Wilma McAlister.
