LEWISTON – Jeannette Lamarre Levesque, 91, of 78 Pride Road, Auburn, died Monday, Dec. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a lingering illness.
She was born in Brunswick on March 30, 1916, the daughter of Florien J. and Marrion Therrien Lamarre. On Nov. 3, 1933, she married Paul E. Levesque, who passed away on July 13, 1989, after 57 years of marriage.
Educated locally, she was an accomplished seamstress, and did alterations for many years, worked for several ladies’ fashion stores in Lewiston, and then went to work at Clark Shoe for several years prior to retiring. A member of Sacred Heart parish, she belonged to the Sacred Heart and St. Louis Senior Citizens, and enjoyed spending her summers at the family’s camp in South Harpswell.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia and husband, Ira Lightman of Charlotte, N.C., and Sandra L. Stevens and husband, Maurice Clark, of Auburn and Brunswick; a sister, Marie Bussiere of Auburn; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Roland and Rene Lamarre.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kenneth Brodsky, his staff, and the staff of Pine Tree Home Healthcare for all the kindness and care they showed Jeannette during her final illness.
