WEST PARIS – Rutha I. Hodgkins, 92, of Roxbury, died Friday, Dec. 22, at the Ledgeview Living Center, West Paris.
She was born in Stark, N.H., on Dec. 13, 1914, a daughter of Frank and Amy (Brawn) Merrill, and graduated from the Groveton High School, Groveton, N.H.
Rutha drove school bus for Roxbury and Mexico schools and SAD 43 for many years until her retirement.
She loved the outdoors, especially gardening and snowmobiling. She was an animal lover, and she loved her family.
She was married in Roxbury on Oct. 26, 1935, to the late Fred W. Hodgkins who died in Roxbury, on Jan. 7, 1987.
Survivors include two sons, David Hodgkins and wife, Bernadette, and Bryant Hodgkins and wife, Priscilla, both of Roxbury; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Steve, a brother and a sister.
