Auburn – Berthe “Betty” Levesque, 87, of Lewiston passed away peacefully at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice on Nov. 6.

She was born in the small farming village of Sacre Coeur De Marie Province of Quebec, Canada on Aug. 15, 1919. She immigrated to Auburn at the age of three. She was protective of her naturalization papers and a proud citizen.

She was educated in Auburn schools. In her early years, she worked for Bates Manufacturing, but was a housewife for most of her life. She was married for 64 years to Henry C. Levesque who predeceased her in 2002. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Ruth Desmarais; and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Levesque, and his wife, Jacqueline, of Bolingbrook, Ill. and Donald G. Levesque, and his wife, Linda, of Gorham; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
