LEWISTON – Irene D. Morin, 90, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Marshwood Nursing Home. She previously resided at the Chapman House, Auburn for two years and on College Street, Lewiston, prior to Chapman House.

Born in Lewiston on Feb. 5, 1915, she was the daughter of Pierre and Marie Olivier Nadeau. She was educated in local schools. Mrs. Morin was an avid patchwork quilt maker, and enjoyed traveling. She worked in the local shoe factories for a good part of her life, and also as a medical technician at Maison Marcotte.

She was one of 15 siblings. She was a member of Les Enfants de Marie of St. Peter & Paul Church, Les Dames de St. Anne at Holy Family Church, and the Association Canado Americaine.

She is survived by a brother, Louis and wife, Simonne Nadeau, of Lewiston; two stepsons, Maurice and wife, Carmen Morin, of Lewiston, Leo Morin, of Lewiston; a stepdaughter-in-law, Wendy Morin; and many loving nieces and nephews that she helped raise.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ludger; siblings, Antonio (Bill), Onesime (Zim), Roland, Eugene, Wilfrid, Marie, Rose Anna, Gracia, Alice, Jeannette, Carmen, Georgette, and Victoria; a stepson, Robert; a stepdaughter-in-law, Venise Morin.
