FARMINGTON – Shirley Anna Dail Whitney, 57, of Farmington, died Thursday evening, Dec. 8, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 17, 1948, in Fort Dix, N.J., a daughter of the late Carl and Dorthy (Cienski) Dail.
On Oct. 11, 1968, she married Alan Whitney in Fayetteville, N.C. Shirley was a homemaker most of her life and along with her husband enjoyed collecting VHS and DVD movies.
She was an avid collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia, and enjoyed going to Lewiston every week to help out at the Salvation Army Store.
In addition to her husband of 37 years of Farmington, Shirley is survived by her mother-in-law, Marion Whitney of Farmington; three brothers-in-law, Glendon Whitney and his wife, Regina, of Farmington, Kenneth Whitney and his wife, Janice, of New Portland, and Harold Whitney and his wife, Gloria, of Livermore; and her brother, Howard Cienski of New York.
She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Robert Whitney.
