MEXICO — The Hope Association recently hosted its 42nd annual Snowmobile Ride-In at its new location at 91 Highland Terrace Road.
Throughout the day, almost 70 people enjoyed rides and great food, as well as fun and fellowship.
The Mexico Trailblazers Snowmobile Club, led by Nick Brown and Elliot Knox, groomed the trails, posted signs and gave rides.
Over the course of 42 years, more than $275,000 has been raised to support the association’s many programs. Ride-In funds have been used to purchase lift-equipped vehicles, non-Medicaid reimbursable supports to individuals with disabilities and a variety of other program needs.
This year’s proceeds will go toward building the new Briar Patch Greenhouse next to the New Hope Home on Highland Terrace. The new Briar Patch is Maine weather-resistant, handicapped-accessible, environmentally friendly and allows more people to learn and work in the greenhouse, since it is operational year round.
Snowmobilers and guests were able to see the progress of the new greenhouse being built.
