AUBURN — Laurette Duquette, 101, of 440 Minot Ave., Auburn, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Clover Manor in Auburn.
Born on June 8, 1915, in Manchester, N.H., she spent most of her younger years in Canada. On Sept. 26, 1933, she married Lucien Duquette in Chartierville, P.Q., Canada. He passed away Feb. 24, 1999. In 1948, the Duquette family moved to the local area, where she became active in Holy Rosary Church and worked as a stitcher at Knapp Shoe until her retirement. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved to quilt in her spare time.
Survivors include four daughters, Dolores Rioux of Monmouth, Carmelle Lagasse of Lewiston, Monique Landry and husband, Bert, of Hartford, and Perette Lamontagne and husband, Robert, of Minot; a son, Jean Duquette and wife, Gloria, of Eustis; a sister, Florianne Deschene of Lisbon; 24 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six brothers and sisters.
