WINTHROP — The Bailey Public Library will host writer and theater director Caitlin Shetterly at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25.
The event, part of the Winthrop Lakes Region Forum, is sponsored by the Winthrop Public Library Foundation.
Caitlin will discuss her new book “Modified,” which was named one of Publishers Weekly’s Best Books of 2016. It explores America’s use of GMOs, and her journey to cut genetically modified corn from her diet.
Shetterly studied English and American Literature at Brown University and is a frequent contributor to National Public Radio. She has written for The New York Times, Elle and Oprah.com.
She is the founder and artistic director of the Winter Harbor Theatre Company, where she produces and directs works that attempt to tackle the important issues of our time.
She lives with her husband, photographer Daniel E. Davis, their son and their dog, Hopper.
The event is free and open to the public, and will take place in the lower level King Event Room of the library at 39 Bowdoin St.
