LEWISTON – Fred S. Collins Sr., 67, of Hebron, died Saturday evening at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Hebron on June 8, 1938, the son of Guy and Alice Greenwood Collins. He attended school in Hebron and Mechanic Falls.
He worked in the logging business for several years with his father, and then was a heavy equipment operator for many years.
He was a member of American Legion Post No. 150 in Mechanic Falls.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening.
On Dec. 16, 1978, he married Patricia Hall.
He is survived by his wife of Hebron; four children Fred Jr. of Norway, Julie Gauthier and her husband, Robbie, of Hebron, Penny Dunn and her husband, Philip, of Brunswick, and Brenda Collins of Hebron; two sisters, Sadie Sturtevant and Betty Hazard, both of Hebron; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Brandy.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Linda Cyr.
