Book Café to meet 

MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library Book Café, the adult reading group, will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:45 to 7 p.m.

New members are always welcome. 

Sewing, craft group to meet

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Sewing and Craft Group meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays except the third Wednesday of each month at the Otisfield Community Hall on Route 121.

Members are a small group of women who bring their own projects to work on, although occasionally there are group projects.

SeniorsPlus at Wilton library 

WILTON — SeniorsPlus will be at the Wilton Free Public Library the first Thursday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m. The organization will be on hand to answer questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

Lithuanian Heritage Club to meet

RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon Thursday, July 6, at Sam’s Italian Shop on Route 2.

The annual Lithuanian Heritage Club picnic is planned for Sept. 16. Plans for this picnic will be discussed at the meeting.

Free Girl Scout event

FARMINGTON — Girl Scouts of Maine will host free Sprouting Daisies event for girls who are entering kindergarten or first grade and their families at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Farmington Public Library.

Road race for kids, adults

BETHEL — The MollyOckett Day Road Race will begin at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, July 15, for kids age 14 and younger, a 1-mile run, and 9 a.m. for the adult 5-mile and 1-mile run at the Bethel Common.

Kids from SAD 44 or local Gould students run free.

The event is being sponsored by the Bethel Outing Club, a nonprofit, to promote Nordic skiing and human powered recreation.
